How it began

The Ruby Translator is a project that began in 2006 with research in the area of learning strategies -- specifically in the area of how to increase student retention levels. One area that we found, in our review of research, is that classroom note taking increases student retention levels. During this same timeframe we noticed our students doing this “thing” called texting and doing a lot of it. Research also shows that learning takes place best when we speak the language of the learner, student or buyer. For today’s student that language is TEXTING.

So, the question -- How can we combine texting and note taking, using a computer or a multiple learning device [cell phone], to help students improve their grades? Is it also possible for children and parents or buyer and seller to have better communications between each other using this same process?

Where we are now

Our development of The Ruby Translator, affectionately called Ruby, has grown from an idea to reality. Ruby was first developed as a Windows version and is now also available in iPhone, iPad, Droid and Mac formats.

Our research and development department is in various stages of production regarding other products. By October we plan to release another software program that you are going to enjoy and want to have on your iPhone. As we get closer to launch date more information will be forth coming.

Other software will follow. You will find exciting texting apparel on our website with plans for more. Our texting book line will continue to increase. More importantly we look to you for what it is that you wish and need. We want to be of service to YOU! Let us know how we can serve YOUR texting needs.

What they are

The Ruby icon, located on the left, is designed to symbolize what The Ruby Translator is all about.  A txtr’s hands are holding a multiple learning device, cell phone, while their thumbs are texting with Ruby on the screen.  The diamond pointing down represents Ruby translating text words into full words, or visa versa, then saving the text message to Microsoft Word or a text editor.

Txtr is our apparel company trade mark. The ASCII characters of:

(I'm a texter* :-)

form the txtr character.  Some of the symbols are easier to recognize than others.  The most difficult is the “x”  The “x” is divided into a top and bottom half to form the v-neck and the top of txtr’s legs.

Txtr is a texting guru, in fact a world champion texter, who has volunteered to be our spokesperson.

Education

Taking classroom notes using Ruby, and studying from those classroom notes, will help to increase your grades. With Ruby teachers, parents and students will all be speaking the language of those whom communication is so critical to be successful.

Business

For those in the business community this is an important texting tool. Ruby allows executives to take notes any place in the world for future reference. Ruby is also an important communications tool to speak the language between buyer and seller.

Personal

Ruby is a neat way for parents to speak the language of their children without actually knowing texting. Also great for relatives like grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc., to now be able to communicate with their “texting” generation speaking the language without the need to learn the texting language.
