Hi I’m txtr [texter] and wish to explain the purpose of our dictionaries and the RUBY Dictionary Rating System.

PURPOSE OF DICTIONARIES

My plan for having Add-on dictionaries is several fold. The major overall purpose of our dictionary system is a way to provide accurate data, in a database format, to be used by RUBY to translate TXT into WORDS or WORDS into TXT.

Why so many Add-on dictionaries?

• One is to provide both general and specialized dictionaries for purchase.
• Another to provide an opportunity for the user to create, edit, and send a personal dictionary.
• Finally it is an attempt to keep your overall cost of using Ruby at a minimum.

One general dictionary is the English Texting dictionary. The English Texting dictionary contains about 90% of the most common spoken English words. This dictionary is great for taking notes. NetLingo Chat and NetLingo Smileys are part of the world’s largest lingo system. NetLingo Smileys contains only emoticons [drawings if you will] for a TXT. My Textalk contains language designed specifically for tweens. Both NetLingo and My Textalk are lingo dictionaries meaning that a single TXT may have a meaning that can be two or three words or possibly many more. A very specialized dictionary would be our Drug Use dictionary. The Drug Use dictionary contains over 6,200 words dealing with addiction terms. You can also load four FREE sample foreign language dictionaries – French, Italian, German and Spanish.

RUBY DICTIONARY RATING SYSTEM

We have incorporated Apple's application rating system into the rating of dictionaries to help you have a better understanding of what to expect. Of course we have also put all dictionaries in PDF files so you may personally review each and every TXT and TXT meaning of all our dictionaries. We use WORD to define the meaning of a TXT. The following is the rating system:

After each dictionary name you will see the rating which matches one of the four ratings above. Each rating has a matching description to help guide you in your evaluation.

When a dictionary is purchased it will automatically be added to the Database. The Database can be edited using either the edit or add tools available at the bottom of the Dictionary Page. To check to see if a dictionary is editable or not go to the Dictionary page and select the information button located in the upper right-hand corner. If the dictionary is editable the last line in the pop up will say personal – editable. If the dictionary is not editable the last line will read default – not editable. If the last line reads default – not editable you still have the ability to turn the Active mode On or Off and turn the Case Sensitive On or Off. Also provided is: Created by, Date Created, and Date Updated.

To maintain the integrity of each individually purchased dictionary editing is not allowed. You will also notice that the date of purchase is provided so you may maintain your own record of the age of each dictionary. Periodically dictionaries will be updated and you may wish to update your collection at that time. Of course you may also author your very own dictionary using the Build Dictionary Button located on the Dictionary Page. We presently have dictionaries under development and they will be available in the near future – continue to check the iPhone and Mac stores as well as this website for new and updated dictionaries.
